About me

I am dedicated and hardworking, i do not like to start something and not finish it. I am enthusiastic about my work and i am consistently thinking of all the possibilities to improve. I love seeing the outcome of my work and how it makes people react and feel.
I am outgoing and confident which was built up through my Ballroom and Latin American dancing.

I am a keen traveller and i have been lucky enough to visit New York and India. Going to India was an invaluable experience. I got to travel around and see the place. Since going to India i feel i have matured in the sense that i absorb more of what is going on around me and the world.

As for my work i prefer a hands-on approach. I love working with wood, metal, plastic and clay because i can manipulate them to create new outcomes. I feel i have talent with ceramics as i quickly developed skills in glazing, hand building, casting, raku firing and paper clay. I have also learnt construction techniques that have helped me to understand how to build structures correctly.
It is these skills that have lead to me successfully building my cog scuplture. I gradually built it up around a wooden pole adding each piece individually. I have recieved very positive comments about this piece and it is the one i am most proud of.
I also recieved positive feedback about my FMP pieces "Mille Fiore", they are intended to be wall decorations, i made them to be vessels so they can hold flowers or candles.

A1 sheet of life drawing

To paint these pieces i glued brown sugar paper onto pieces of white paper I then used brown, red, black and white paint aswell as charcoal to paint the model. These pieces show my devlopment in life drawing.

A1 painting from life drawing

I limited my palet to white, blue and black and then charcoal for the outlines. This painting has worked well and shows the form and tone of the model.

FMP worksheet

This worksheet shows my reasons for choosing my flower vessels.

FMP vessel pieces

I used three different firings to get the desired glaze effects for each piece, Raku, stoneware and earthenware.

Cog sculpture in the making

I used paper clay to make this piece,i had to build it up over a few days to give each new piece time to harden so that new pieces could be added.

Smoke firing

This is one of my favourite pieces in ceramics, the process was fun to do and watch and the results were very pleasing and aesthetic.
